The Process:

From the beginning we knew that we would do an amazing project on Amelia Earhart if we picked her. We were not sure if we should do a project on Amelia Earhart or Mohandas Gandhi, two great role models. But we eventually made the decision that got us to where we are now. We chose Amelia.

We have our Research class in the high school library, luckily for us! We had lots of resources, books, computers and scanners. There were a few days that we could not use any technology, unless it was to find a book in the library, we found lots of great pictures and information on Amelia, we had to wait to scan them though. Even though, we couldn’t find any articles of her, we found some old ones on the computers.

Then, we had to decide what kind of project we should do. We thought of doing a Power Point, which was too simple, and we didn’t want to write a paper, that would be too boring. We wanted to use the computer, so we didn’t have to print too many things, which meant that our project was not going to be a presentation on paper. We decided on a website because it was going to challenge us, but we would also get done in time. The only thing is that we needed was a login that didn’t block tripod. It took us about half of a month to get access www.tripod.com because our school prevents us from going there on the “research” login. We spent the time researching and writing and scanning. But we got it and got started. We think that the hardest part of actually making the website was agreeing on a color design for the background and downloading pictures onto it, the rest was pretty simple.

Our project relates to Archives because it took us a lot of research, time and commitment to our flight back to history with Amelia Earhart, and that is what Archives is supposed to do.
